Ascot participation at the 2008 OTC
Our Company Ascot participated at the Oil Technology Conference (OTC) Houston from the 5th to the 8th of May 2008.

It was an excellent outing for the company because we were able to showcase our capabilities to other relevant oil & gas companies globally as well as prove that we are still very much on stream and waxing stronger in our areas of expertise as well as in Nigeria and West Africa.

Visitors at our booth included the Honourable Ministers of State for Gas and Energy – Drs. Emmanuel Odusina and Odein Ajumogobia as well as the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Engineer Mohammed Yar’Adua and their entourage. We also witnessed a large turnout of Nigerian International Oil Companies (IOCs) and Nigerian Distinguished Senators as well as Honourable Members of the National House of Assembly. We also had the DPR Director – Mr. Tony Chukwueke visit our booth. We had approximately 1000 visitors at our booth during the conference.

We also had a special information session during the conference where we showcased what the new Ascot is all about, what our current and projected capabilities are, etc. Ascot also participated in the US-Nigeria Commercial Partnership Forum. The forum was aimed at encouraging the partnership of US companies with Nigerian oil & gas companies. It is hoped that we will get a larger influx of projects from our participation in this conference.

Of note is our sponsorship award from PETAN (Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria); they were in charge of the Nigerian Pavilion at the conference. It is also pertinent to note that we received special recognition from the GMD of NNPC.

In all, our participation at the OTC was a good opportunity to showcase who and what Ascot stands for prior to our re-branding programme.
