On the 22nd of July, 2008, Ascot completed the 10.57 kilometre offshore 12” pipelay work for the Addax OML 123 field offshore Calabar in Cross River State. The Ascot 318 was employed in a Lumpsum contract to undertake the work which included a very tricky maneuver past the Knock Adoon FPSO.
The project was awarded to Ascot as a sub-contract from Maritimex Offshore Nigeria Limited.
The Ascot 318 on completing this line has moved on to work on the 15 kilometre stretch of 14” pipeline which was awarded as a variation to the original contract also for Addax in the OML 123 field.
Addax has commended Ascot for a job well done.
On 12th of June, 2008, Ascot witnessed the departure of the Ascot Amal II, the Ascot Marine Wave, the Ascot Flying W and a Ramp Barge containing 4 swamp backhoes and a swamp buggy to Chevron Escravos Site for the EGP3A project. The scope of work for this phase of the project involves the preparation of the Right of Way (RoW) for the laying of two 24” pipelines at the onshore portion of the EGP3A Site (1 export line from the Plant to PLEM/SPM and 1 Infield from the Okan Platform to the Plant). The pipelines are each about 6.8 km long through mangrove swamps from the Plant to the Escravos Beach tie-in point.
On the 15th of May, 2008, Ascot secured a six-month call-out contract with Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited for the Edop-Qua Iboe Terminal (QIT) Pipeline Clamping Project. The initial scope of work involves the provision of a supply vessel and also the supply of a Crew Boat (surfer) to the project site; Ascot will also handle the required logistics for our vessels as well as other contractors’ vessels for the duration of the project (viz.: provision of fuel, food, water and crew change).
We will be working alongside another contractor - RUE to install 49 clamps on the Edop to QIT 24” pipeline.
This is a true Project Management Service Contract where we can demonstrate to MPNU that we have the capability to manage offshore works to the same high standard that we are displaying at Isiodu Site 2.
